Blazek Makes Seven Saves in Scoreless Draw For Women’s Soccer

ST. CHARLES, MO. – The Lindenwood women’s soccer team (1-1-1, 0-0-0 OVC) played to a scoreless draw against Northern Illinois University (1-0-1, 0-0-0 MAC) on Friday night in DeKalb, Ill .

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood struggled to get much going offensively in the first half, managing just one corner kick across the first 45 minutes. Sam Blazek kept the Lions in the game, stopping all six Huskies shots that were sent in their direction, as the match was tied 0-0 heading into the halftime break.

Midway through the second half, Lindenwood started to get more comfortable by generating three consecutive corner kicks, and its first shot attempt, but were unable to take advantage. A little later in the half, Lindenwood cleared an NIU attempt towards the goal off the line, which kept the game scoreless.

Blazek finished the contest with seven saves as Lindenwood and Northern Illinois played to a scoreless draw.
