The South African Football Association’s Vision 2030 target has received a boost of note.
SAFA has joined in on the FIFA Football for Schools Program aimed at the revival of school soccer. The Department of Sports, Arts and Culture and the Department of Education.

Speaking about this initiative, SAFA president Danny Jordaan told The Citizen said:
“In football you plan for four years, from one World Cup to the next. We had Vision 2022, which ends with the Qatar World Cup in December. The next four years is 2022 to 2026 and a major focus of Vision 2030, which has two phases, Phase One (2022 to 2026) and Phase Two (2026 to 2030), and we have to talk about where this program fits in terms of the future of South African football.”

Jordaan was speaking at a workshop held at the SAFA Technical Center in Nasrec, and was attended by educators from across the country.
According to IOL, also involved were 52 local football associations made up of teachers who doubled up as coaches. It was also reported that Ivory Coast and Manchester City legend Yaya Toure would be a high-profile guest at the event.
A follow-up workshop will take place in Gqeberha next weekend, where 13 other COSAFA regions will join the program.
Pitso Mosimane alleges sabotage while setting up soccer schools initiative
Pitso Mosimane is not known for mincing his words, and has gone on the offensive regarding another bee in his bonnet.
As reported by Sports Briefthe revered mentor is not happy with what he describes as the attempted sabotage of his Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools initiative, a passion project aiming at invigorating football at school level across the country.
Mosimane alleged that an unnamed and powerful individual had influenced certain companies not to associate with the project.
