The months-long saga of star forward Kevin Durant asking out of his current team, the Brooklyn Nets, is officially over. The team released a statement sharing that the two sides had mended fences and put their differences behind them, making things for the Boston Celtics easier when it comes to preparing for the season ahead.
It also provided some relief to fans who had long since tired of the seemingly never-ending rounds of leaks and counter-leaks being bandied about by interested parties the media had to report on. The rumors hanging over the head of the team and fans both now firmly in the rearview mirror begs the question of how this affects the team now and moving forward.
