Corning council to vote on mobile vendor ordinance – Red Bluff Daily News

CORNING — The City Council Tuesday will hold a second reading of an ordinance that would change how mobile vending is done.

This ordinance will require mobile vendors to be located at a minimum of 200 feet away from an established food facility, submit to annual inspections to ensure all health permits are current and all conditions are being met, establish a new annual fee to be paid to the city ​​and require the mobile vendors to possess a valid California Department of Tax and Fee Seller’s permit.

If the council approves the ordinance, existing mobile vendors will be provided 90 days to comply with the new regulations before any violations or penalties are imposed.

At its Aug. 9 meeting, the council unanimously approved changing the fee to $250 per year. Everything else in the present ordinance remains the same.

In other business

The council will discuss a proposed recreation lease agreement with Corning Youth Football and Cheer for seasonal use of Clark Park facilities.

The police department wants the council’s approval to hire a second community service officer.

The council meets at 6:30 pm the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at City Hall, 794 Third St. Meetings are free and open to the public.
