A brand-new luxury holiday lodge park has opened in Faringdon.
Faringdon Grange Lodge Park stands within the grounds of the old golf course at Great Coxwell which closed over five years ago.
Officially opening in July, it hopes to offer a second home in the countryside for ‘those wishing to purchase an escape from it all and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.’
This is on top of ‘breathing new life’ into the ‘once thriving venue’ when the grounds were full of golfers teeing off.
A spokesperson for the new properties said: “With the housing market being as it is at present with many folks looking for a second home, what we have to offer will ensure that the housing stock in the area is not being purchased for those who want a weekend retreat pushing house prices in the area, to astronomical prices.”
An advert for the lodges, which are either three or four beds with ensuite (in most cases), describes what people can expect to find if they stay in one.
“Each lodge is furnished to the highest standard with quality integrated appliances and high spec kitchen finishes. Sofas and dining room furniture compliment the finish of the kitchen providing a great entertaining area for yourselves, visitors and also holidaymakers alike.
“Quality soft furnishings and scatter cushions throughout compliment the stunning interior finishes in each of the rooms.
“To the exterior of each lodge can be found a raised patio area leading from the lodge offering great alfresco dining space and with some of the lodges there is an opportunity to have a private hot tub to the rear to enjoy a relax and unwind beneath the stars.”
The mayor of Faringdon was among several notable people who attended the opening celebrations in July.
The park held its first Open Weekend recently which the spokesperson said was a great success with many locals attending to look at what was happening on their doorstep, as well as a lot of investors from further afield looking for an investment opportunity.
The park itself boasts a small lake in the center with plenty of wildlife to enjoy from the lodges. Geese and ducks spend their days drifting effortlessly over the rippling waters.
