In 2018, the Rangers did their due diligence searching for a manager before eventually deciding on Chris Woodward.
One name that popped up then that is once again making noise is former player and current MLB studio analyst Mark DeRosa.
In an appearance on MLB Network Radio with Jim Bowden, DeRosa emphasized his interest in the Rangers’ manager position.

DeRosa played in the MLB from 1998-2013 and had a fairly successful stint with the Rangers from 2005-2006. He has never coached or been in a front office position, but was recently named the manager for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic.
Nevertheless, Chris Young and the Rangers have not made it clear if they will be searching for other candidates besides current interim manager Tony Beasley.
