Sixers guard Furkan Korkmaz has big game for Turkey in friendly loss

With it being the offseason, now is the time for players to continue their preparation for the upcoming 2022-23 season. Some players are in the gym working out individually, some are participating in pickup games with other NBA players, and others are competing for their country.

Philadelphia 76ers reserve guard Furkan Korkmaz is currently competing in EuroBasket 2022 for his native country of Turkey. Currently, the friendly games are going on as the tournament itself does not start for Turkey until Sep. 1.

On Friday, Korkmaz had himself a big day as he scored 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting and knocked down two of his six attempts from deep. He also pulled down 10 rebounds as Turkey fell to Greece 89-80.

Korkmaz had a down season in the 2021-22 campaign as he shot only 28.9% from deep. That won’t cut it in the upcoming season so he has to take his strong international play over to the Sixers with him as he gets set for his sixth season in the league.
