While Intel’s Raptor Lake (13th generation) is currently in its qualification stage, the mobile SKUs have already started to show up. Over at the BAPCo’s CrossMark website, we have spotted the i5-13600HX CPU. BAPCo’s CrossMark is an easy to run native cross-platform benchmark that measures the overall system performance.
This mobile processor features 14 cores / 20 threads using the x64 ISA (Instruction Set Architecture). This is essentially a desktop model featured on the mobile (handheld/laptop) platform. The TDP may be the same 55W as featured on its Alder Lake (12th generation) counterpart.
The Raptor Lake based i5-13600HX surprisingly falls behind the Alder Lake based i7. This may be due to a very early ES (Engineering Sample). Intel will be added 2 additional cores to the new 13th gen i5 processors for the mobile market.
Now bear in mind, similar Alder Lake processors just came 4 months ago So Intel, what’s the hurry? This could be a very early leak as stated above. Intel’s Raptor Lake isn’t expected to arrive until the 27th-28th of September (announcement). Expect a release sometime in October.
