In preparation, the MET was this week packed into shipping containers and moved to its new location at University Square. It will be used by UCLan and the Student Union throughout the freshers period.

Previously the MET was located in the Harris Quarter, hosting several workshops, performances, events and comedy nights for all the family.

Professor Charles Quick, Co-curator of In Certain Places, said: “The MET has been commissioned by In Certain Places, a research project at the University working in Partnership with Preston City Council, so it is very fitting that it should now come from its city center site to the new square.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for the University and the City to produce a joint cultural program for everyone in Preston.”
