Preston’s interactive Mobile Event Tent (MET) will be open at UCL this September.

In preparation, the MET was this week packed into shipping containers and moved to its new location at University Square. It will be used by UCLan and the Student Union throughout the freshers period.
Previously the MET was located in the Harris Quarter, hosting several workshops, performances, events and comedy nights for all the family.

Over the Lancashire Encounter weekend, which takes place from Friday 16 September to Sunday 18 September, the MET will be used as one of the many venues for the festival.
After this it will continue to be used by UCL throughout September.

Professor Charles Quick, Co-curator of In Certain Places, said: “The MET has been commissioned by In Certain Places, a research project at the University working in Partnership with Preston City Council, so it is very fitting that it should now come from its city center site to the new square.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for the University and the City to produce a joint cultural program for everyone in Preston.”
