Russell Roof Tiles (RRT) is hosting its hugely successful Ryder Cup-style charity golf tournament.

The tournament will be held on September 8 at Horsley Lodge Golf Club, Ilkeston in Derbyshire to raise money for RRT’s Give 4 Good initiative. This charity campaign aims to raise a huge £50,000 this year for charities and good causes close to its two Burton and Lochmaben (Scotland) sites.

Already 90 players have signed up to take part in the tournament including teams and individuals from Wheeldon Homes, Liberty Roofing and Construction, Northwest Roofing Supplies, Steadfast Roofing, Absolute Roofing Solutions, PJ Colours, Barclays, SDN Pallets, Ecopac and Vortex.

All entrants into the tournament will be pitched against each other, with RRT England vs RRT Rest of The World who will be battling it out for the prestigious RRT Ryder Cup Trophy. There will also be extra prizes on the day for nearest the pin, nearest the pin in two, best scoring pair, and best scoring individual player.

RRT is hoping to raise £5,500 from this event alone towards the Give 4 Good initiative.

The “Give 4 Good” scheme is part of the firm’s celebration of 10 years of independence which was set up at the beginning of this year and will support an array of local charities, some of which include CALM, Burton and District Mind, Veterans Garden Dumfries and the Winshill Neighborhood Resource Centre.

Ross Hayward, area sales manager at Russell Roof Tiles, said: “This year, we’re really stretching ourselves to raise as much money as possible for our nominated charities and causes. The success of the golf day in previous years is the reason why we’ve organized it again. Not only because it’s great to get everyone together, but most importantly, to raise a huge amount of money towards our Give 4 Good initiative that will support our communities.”

Last year, the charity golf tournament raised £5,000 for Shropshire, Staffordshire & Cheshire Blood Bikes.
