STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Starting August 29, the Tarleton Sports Network has moved its traditional lunchtime coaches shows to Monday evenings from 6-7 pm at Twisted J live.
These shows will now be broadcast on KSTV 93.1 FM, The Mighty 93. Live broadcasts of all Tarleton sporting events will remain on KTRL 90.5 FM and KXTR 100.7 FM.
The Tarleton Sports Extravaganza will be every Monday through the end of the basketball season, with certain holiday exceptions. The first 12 shows from Aug. 29 through Nov. 28 feature head football coach Todd Whitten and head volleyball coach Mary Schindler. The second half of TSE will star head men’s basketball coach Billy Gillispie and head women’s basketball coach Misty Wilson from Nov. 28 to Mar. 13.
The first show will feature a $500 Tarleton Student Scholarship Giveaway for one lucky Tarleton student present at Twisted J on Aug. 29. Other incentives of the show include opportunities to have other head coaches on the show, a chance to win a “Twisted J Golden Ticket”, weekly ticket giveaways to Twisted J Live Shows, including performances by Flatland Cavalry, Kody West, and Kolby Cooper, food and drink specials, and Tarleton Athletic ticket giveaways.
There will be numerous chances to enter tickets for a “Twisted J Golden Ticket”. This will get you and a guest into all of Twisted J’s Spring shows for free. Attendees will get an entry for every show they attend during the fall. The drawing will be Dec. 12 before Christmas Break.
Tarleton’s Associate Athletic Director for Alumni Engagement and On-Air Broadcasting Byron Anderson will co-host the show and is excited about its possibilities.
“One of the main purposes of this show is to engage with Tarleton students and to get them more familiar with our coaches and athletes in an exciting game like environment,” said Byron Anderson.
The Todd Whitten Show presented by Triple Crown Ford and the Mary Schindler Show presented by F&M Bank will kick things off for the Tarleton Sports Extravaganza. The shows will be co-hosted by Byron Anderson duck Kyle Crews.
