If you’re keen to try out 5G, you’re in luck because Vodafone is giving Lebara, Kogan, TPG and iiNet customers a free trial.
Do you have a 5G compatible phone and access to 5G in your area? Do you get good coverage from Vodafone?
If the answer to these questions is a yes then you’re in luck.
Vodafone Mobile Virtual Network Providers (MVNOs) such as Lebara, Kogan, TPG and iiNet are usually great options for mobile customers who want to stick to a budget (compared to the likes of Telstra, Optus and Vodafone itself).
How do I get Vodafone 5G from these MVNOs?
From 20 July until 26 October (unless extended further), you get to take Vodafone 5G for a free spin as long as you’re signed up with specific plans from Lebara, Kogan, TPG and iiNet.

Do I need to do anything to activate 5G?
As long as you have an active mobile plan from 1 of the providers we’ve listed, you should be able to trial 5G without having to do anything.
Just make sure your phone is 5G compatible and that you’re in a 5G coverage area.
Can I get 5G from Telstra or Optus MVNOs?
As of this month, Telstra has also rolled out 5G to its MVNOs.
The ones that currently offer 5G mobile plans include Boost Mobile, Woolworths Mobile and ALDI Mobile.
Optus MVNOs have been able to resell 5G plans since 2020.
Optus and Telstra have both raised mobile plan prices. Compare mobile plans here if you’re looking to cut back on your household bills.
