Master Teague III is already making an impact early on in his stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The former Ohio State football running back was signed by the Steelers Aug. 3 after the team placed Jeremy McNichols on injury reserve.
It wasn’t Teague’s first opportunity. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears shortly after the 2022 NFL draft, but was cut after the team’s three-day rookie camp.

But after four years at Ohio State, Teague is showing what he can do on the Steelers’ practice field.
On a one-on-one drill during the Steelers’ preseason camp, Teague lowered a shoulder and trucked a defensive player, forcing him to the ground, while still remaining upright and in bounds.

Before he was a Steeler, here’s what Master Teague did as an Ohio State Buckeye
Ever since his time at Ohio State, this is the kind of running back Teague has been, standing at 5-foot-11, 220 pounds.
Entering the Buckeyes’ program as a four-star running back in the 2018 class, he amassed 1,764 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Teague was a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2020 after being a member of the third team in 2019.
In his first three seasons, Teague helped Ohio State to three Big Ten Championships and played in two College Football Playoffs.
Teague hopes to follow in the footsteps of the three other former Ohio State running backs currently in the NFL: Ezekiel Elliott with the Dallas Cowboys, JK Dobbins with the Baltimore Ravens and Trey Sermon with the San Francisco 49ers.
