KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches (USC) announced the defenders on its Division I Women’s Players to Watch list, with Kent State graduate senior Tianna Harris named as one of the 35 student-athletes to keep an eye on.
The list includes USC All-Americans and first or second team All-Region players from 2021, who are scheduled to return for the 2022 season.
Harris was named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year and earned First Team All-MAC and USC First Team All-Midwest honors last season. The Whitby, Ontario native played and started in all 21 games for the Golden Flashes in 2021. She was the leader of a defense that tallied six shutouts. Harris also netted a career-high four goals during her senior campaign, including the game-winner against Northern Illinois and Miami.
Harris was one of two MAC players named to the Players to Watch list, alongside Buffalo’s Payton Robertson.
The Flashes will play their final exhibition game on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 am against Missouri in Louisville, Kentucky. The regular season kicks off Thursday, Aug. 18, when the Flashes host Cleveland State at Zoeller Field at Dix Stadium at 7 p.m
