Here’s a look at every Yankees pick from the 2023 MLB Draft…

Day 3

Round 15, No. 462: C Thomas Frick, North Carolina

A 6-foot, 205-pound catcher, Frick started 59 games behind the plate for the Tar Heels last season, hitting .322 with 12 homers and 60 RBI.

Round 14, No. 432: RHP Danny Flatt, P27 Academy (South Car.)

Listed at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds, Flatt is ranked as the No. 3 RHP prospect and No. 7 overall prospect in the state of South Carolina.

Round 13, No. 402: Two-way player Josh Tiedemann, Hamilton HS (Ariz.)

Tiedemann is the No. 1 third base prospect in the state of Arizona, according to Perfect Game, although he pitches as well. He is committed to play college ball at TCU.

Round 12, No. 372: LHP Brady Rose, Dallas Baptist

The 22-year-old appeared in 23 games this past season, all out of the bullpen. The lefty held opposing hitters to a .176 average, posting a 2.93 ERA over 46.0 innings.

Round 11, No. 342: RHP Josh Grosz, East Carolina

Although he used to be more of a sinker-ball pitcher, Grosz switched to a four-seamer this past season, hitting around 94-95 mph. His best pitch is his slider, which sits around 82 mph.

He pitched to a 3.66 ERA in 16 starts for the Pirates this past season.

Day 2

Round 10, No. 312: RHP Brian Hendry

Hendry, 23, is the second player selected by the Yanks out of Oklahoma State on Monday. The six-foot-four right-hander pitched appeared in 16 games (five starts) and allowed 30 runs (27 earned) on 43 hits over 36.2 innings for a 6.63 ERA for the Cowboys. He tallied 51 strikeouts and 14 walks.

The Medford, New Jersey native began his collegiate career pitching in three seasons at St. John’s where he had a 6.18 ERA in 20 appearances, striking out 46 over 58.0 innings

Round 9, No. 282: OF Jared Wegner

The soon-to-be 24-year-old outfielder played the 2023 season at Arkansas after playing four seasons with Creighton. In 43 games with the Razorbacks, he had 15 home runs and 51 RBI while slashing .313/.357/.674 with a 1.131 OPS.

During his five seasons at the collegiate level, the six-foot, 220-pound righty slashed hit 29 home runs and tallied 131 RBI with a .306 average in 157 games.

Round 8, No. 252: RHP Nicholas Judice

Judice is listed at six-foot-eight and just finished his junior season at the University of Louisana Monroe and was rated the 175th prospect by MLB Pipeline.

He made 21 appearances (three starts) in 2023 allowing 26 runs (22 earned) on 45 hits over 53.0 innings for a 3.74 ERA. He struck out 66 batters with 15 walks. He finishes his collegiate career with a 4.09 ERA in 59 appearances (six starts) over 114.1 innings pitched with a 1.207 WHIP and 10.5 Ks per nine innings.

Round 7, No. 222: 1B/OF Kiko Romero

Romero, 22, played last season at the University of Arizona after playing three seasons at Central Arizona College (Junior College).

In 59 games for the Wildcats, the left-handed batter smacked 21 home runs and had 89 RBI while slashing .345/.441/.724 for a 1.165 OPS.

Round 6, No. 192: LHP Cade Smith

Smith, 21, pitched for three seasons at Mississippi State and compiled a career 4.14 ERA over 130.1 innings pitched.

The left-hander is however coming off a down year for the Bulldogs, allowing 25 runs on 37 hits in 43.0 innings for a 5.23 ERA in 10 appearances (nine starts). He pitched to a 3.86 ERA in 72.1 innings over 14 starts as a sophomore.

Round 4, No. 129: 2B Roc Riggio

Riggio, 21, finished his sophomore season at Oklahoma State with 29 home runs, a .316 batting average and a 1.040 OPS in 113 collegiate games.

The five-foot-nine second baseman slashed .355/.461/.679 with 18 homers, 17 doubles, three triples and 61 RBI in 224 at-bats during the 2023 season. He also walked 46 times with 48 strikeouts. The left-handed hitter, right-handed thrower was the 130th-rated prospect by MLB Pipeline entering the draft.

Riggio was an 11th-round pick by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2022 but opted to return to Stillwater for another year.

Round 3, No. 97: LHP Kyle Carr

Carr, 21, made 15 appearances (14 starts) last season for Palomar Junior College in California. He pitched to a 2.31 ERA allowing 22 runs on 53 hits over 78.0 innings and struck out 111 batters with 19 walks.

Carr arrived at the University of San Diego as a two-way player out of high school, but after redshirting his freshman year and struggling during limited pitching opportunities in 2022 (6.19 ERA in 16.0 innings) he transferred to JUCO where he had more success.

The six-foot-1, 175-pound lefty was rated as MLB Pipeline’s 174th overall prospect heading into the draft. Carr has a fastball that has touched the upper 90s and is in the 90-94mph range and throws a “slurvy” breaking pitch and a changeup. He has already had Tommy John surgery which could lead to questions about his durability.

No. 26: SS George Lombard Jr.

The 18-year-old from Pinecrest, Florida is committed to playing at the University of Vanderbilt but many expect him to sign and begin his pro career.

The youngster was rated as MLB Pipeline’s 31st overall prospect heading into the draft. Standing at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds he possesses a ton of raw pop and has the potential to be an above-average bat from the right side of the plate.

During his senior year at Gulliver Prep High School, Lombard hit .512 with six home runs, 14 doubles, and 24 RBI. He was also a state champion in soccer and was named the Miami-Dade Athlete of the Year.
