Alabama LHP Grayson Hitt drafted No. 112 overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks have selected former Alabama left-handed pitcher, Grayson Hitt, with the No. 112 overall selection in the 2023 MLB draft. Hitt’s projected slot value with his fourth-round selection is $597,500.

Hitt missed a majority of this past season due to a Tommy John surgery, but he was the Tide’s opening-day starter in 2023. He struck out 133 batters he faced during roughly 117 innings. In the eight games he started this year, he posted a 4.19 ERA and had 49 K’s in 38.2 IP.

Hitt is the second member of the 2023 Tide to be selected alongside teammate OF Andrew Pickney, who was also selected in the fourth round at No. 102 overall to the Washington Nationals. The Tide also had a future high school signee drafted in the first round, Bryce Eldridge, a two-way player out of Madison High School in Virginia. Eldridge was selected No. 16 overall by the San Francisco Giants.
