The Cubs’ Dansby Swanson over Reds rookie Matt McLain. The Diamondbacks’ Lourdes Gurriel Jr. over TJ Friedl. The Braves’ Austin Riley over Spencer Steer.
One could make the case that several Reds should be joining closer Alexis Diaz at the 2023 All-Star game at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park.
USA TODAY’s Gabe Lacques included Steer among eight players who should (and maybe will) be headed to Seattle. And CBS Sports’ Matt Snyder had Steer, Friedl and McLain on his all-snub team.
The Enquirer’s Gordon Wittenmyer wrote that some say rookie Elly De La Cruz should be an All-Star after just one month in Major League Baseball.
