The series of four Portage County Amateurs begins July 23 when the ninth Kids Am tees off.
In 2022, the Kids Am helped 50 junior golfers earn beginning tournament experience as young golfers up through ninth grade competed over four, six or nine holes at Sunny Hill Golf Course in Brimfield.
Sponsored by the Fairways at Twin Lakes and Birdie Shack, both of Kent, the Kids Am includes members of the Kent Roosevelt girls golf team as well as additional high school golfers walking with the youngest golfers to help with scoring, finding the golf ball and learning the rules.
The tournament, which competes on holes 19-27, often known as the middle-nine at Sunny Hill, is the perfect first experience for youth golfers.
Register at pcagolf.net or check the Portage County Amateur Facebook page for a form to register online. Forms are also available at the Portage County Amateurs’ host courses, including Sunny Hill, Windmill Lakes in Ravenna and Raccoon Hill in Kent. Forms may be left at the control desk with a check.
