Celtics taking trade calls for their guards — but for what kind of players?

As we inch closer to the 2023 NBA draft, the silly season rumor mill begins to kick into overdrive with a host of rumbles related to the Boston Celtics percolating up through the league’s media sphere. Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes followed up on a report from MassLive’s Brian Robb that the Celtics are fielding trade calls on all of their guards early in the 2023 offseason.

Players who could be on the move include veteran Marcus Smart, freshly minted starter Derrick White, Sixth Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdon, and Oregon alum Payton Pritchard to clear playing time in their backcourt.

Who could realistically be dealt by Boston’s front office this offseason? Which ball clubs might the Celtics be in conversation with?

Cohost of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast Bobby Manning breaks down what Boston could potentially get for each guard should the Celtics elect to shake things up in their backcourt rotation.
