Sixers to meet with Nick Nurse about current coaching vacancy

The Philadelphia 76ers are currently on a coaching search following their decision to move on from Doc Rivers after three seasons. Rivers was 154-82 across three seasons, but the Sixers were eliminated in the second round of the postseason in all three years under Rivers.

There is no shortage of candidates to replace Rivers as the Sixers are one of the most desirable jobs in the league. They boast the league MVP in Joel Embiid and, potentially, a future Hall of Famer in James Harden depending on if they can have him return in free agency.

Nick Nurse, who led the Toronto Raptors to the 2019 title, will reportedly meet with the Sixers for the vacancy. He led Toronto to a 227-163 record in his five seasons with the Raptors.

Nurse is a brilliant tactician with a focus on the defensive end. Toronto never boasted any elite offensive teams, but they played with the heart and the grit needed to go deep into the postseason.
