With the chance of falling down 3-1, the Golden State Warriors needed to lean on Steph Curry against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night in Game 4.
With the Warriors’ back against the wall, the reigning NBA Finals Most Valuable Player delivered a triple-double performance. Curry not only scored a game-high 31 points, but he dished out his 2023 playoff-high 14 assists while grabbing 10 rebounds.
Although he dropped 30 or more points for the sixth time in the playoffs, Curry uncharacteristically struggled from beyond the arc, shooting 3-of-14 from deep in Game 4.
Despite Curry’s fiery all around performance, it wasn’t enough to slow down Lonnie Walker IV in the fourth quarter. The reserve wing broke out in the final frame, scoring 15 points in the fourth quarter to help the Lakers steal the game in a late thriller, 104-101.
Curry had the chance to come through with late heroics with either the game-tying or go-ahead shot in the final seconds with two attempts, but came up short.
Watch all the highlights from Curry’s Game 4 performance via YouTube:
During the 2023 postseason, Curry is averaging 30.6 points on 47.1% shooting from the field and 37.9% shooting from beyond the arc with six assists and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Trailing 3-1 in the series against the Lakers, the Warriors will need another impressive performance from Curry to force a Game 6 with a win in Game 5.
