The NFL draft is over, and six players from Ohio State were selected over the seven rounds, starting with quarterback CJ Stroud on Thursday.
But the Buckeyes aren’t done finding landing spots with a mix of players expected to sign with teams as undrafted free agents throughout the weekend. The opportunities allow them to go through rookie minicamp and other parts of an offseason program in an attempt to make a roster.

Cornerback Cameron Brown
A starter at cornerback, Brown agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Chargers. Injuries limited his impact at Ohio State as he missed five games last fall and most of 2020 due to an Achilles injury, but he was impactful while healthy, breaking up 12 passes over his last two seasons.
It was reported by John Hendrix, who covers the New Orleans Saints for SI.com’s FanNation, that the franchise is signing Cage, who was among the most veteran Buckeyes last season as a “super senior.” He appeared in 54 games over six seasons, rotating inside the defensive line. “Thankful and blessed for this opportunity… time to grind n get to work,” Cage tweeted.
Safety Ronnie Hickman
Despite an early declaration, Hickman went undrafted before reaching an agreement with the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. Hickman led the Buckeyes with 98 tackles in 2021 while playing a hybrid linebacker-safety role known as the “bullet”. He moved to free safety for last season.
Safety Tanner McCalister
An Oklahoma State transfer who followed defensive coordinator Jim Knowles to Columbus, he’s also headed to Cleveland. He posted the fastest 40-yard dash time at Ohio State’s pro day in March, clocking 4.44 seconds.
