The 2023 NFL Draft is a pivotal one for the Arizona Cardinals. What will they do in it?

Trey McBride, last year’s top pick for the Cardinals, looks back on Draft Weekend 2022

The Cardinals traded their first round pick last year to the Baltimore Ravens for Marquise “Hollywood” Brown last year on Day 1 of the draft, so their first pick was No. 55 overall in the second round.

That was tight end Trey McBride, who was asked about that experience Wednesday at the Cardinals veteran mini-camp.

McBride said it was a stressful time, and that this year, he can enjoy watching the draft.

In addition to the ongoing speculation about the team being interested in trading out of the No. 3 overall spot to acquire more draft picks, word came out 3½ hours before the start of the draft itself that the Ravens had agreed to a five-year contract extension with quarterback Lamar Jackson, which could, in turn, fast-track a trade that would send wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from Arizona to Baltimore.

The Republic’s Bob McManaman has more on a possible DeAndre Hopkins to Baltimore Ravens trade.
