“I choose golf at college”

“This experience has made me and will make me grow a lot. College life taught me to rely on myself and be independent. I’m really happy with the choice and can’t wait to learn more.” Words and thoughts of Ginevra Capo, twenty years to go and already in the USA to study and play golf.

Golfando interviewed Ginevra Capo, registered in Italy for the Girasoli, in Carmagnola (Turin).

Ginevra Capo, statements

“I fell in love with it thanks to my father who took me to play at the age of four. Over time this passion has grown also thanks to my teachers who made me love the very history of this sport.

My parents helped me in the selection process. They listened to me and asked many questions to help me make the right decision. The fact of being able to study and obtain an important degree was decisive, bringing my sports career to an even higher and more competitive level.

As I told you, I believe this experience at the University of the Cumberlands allows me to grow and become an even more solid player. It allows me to prepare myself to face a possible transition to professionalism in serenity.

I will have both a degree and four years of golf experience on a really competitive circuit. I would recommend choosing a university that leaves all doors open, meaning that it allows you to have an important degree and play on a competitive circuit with an equally stimulating team.

There are also many academic opportunities, because one can study for two degrees at the same time. For example: I am pursuing a degree in finance and one in Business Administration and Management. I find that programming is fundamental because, not only can you get out of college with two degrees, but it is even possible to finish university in less than four years, so that you can use the last year to get your master’s degree”.

“Absolutely yes! In college, having the facilities inside the campus, we have the opportunity to always train. Our schedule includes two hours of afternoon training every day and field training every weekend and during the week.

Having qualified for all the competitions in the first semester, I have improved a lot because I have gained a lot of confidence and awareness in my abilities. The trust of my coach was fundamental. In fact, I had a growth path that led me to win the Fall Conference Tournament and to be named player of the week twice, already at the end of my first semester in college.

To be a successful golfer and an excellent student. Because commitment is important for both golf and studying. There are classes that require some effort. for example, the night before the last round of the conference game I spent doing homework that same evening.

So sometimes it’s not easy to be able to dedicate yourself to everything, but I find it very stimulating”.
