He is another athlete from Miami to be featured in a video game including Shaquille O’Nealwho appeared on two NBA 2K covers with the Heat jersey, along with LeBron Jameswho appeared in one edition.

Shaq and Dwayne Wade also alternated on the cover of a legendary edition. Another case was Wei-Yin Chen, who pitched for the Marlins from 2016 to 2019 and was the cover of The Show for the Taiwanese version in 2016 and 2017 with the Marlins. While goaltender John Vanbiesbrouckwho played for the NHL’s Panthers from 1993 to 1998 was the cover of NHL 97.

Chisholm is not only a great athlete but also an avid video game player and revealed that he has been a player of The Show since 2006, when this video game with the image of David Ortiz emerged, in its first edition.

“I ate Ken Griffey Jr. who was a real idol for a lot of guys. Not just for baseball fans. He was an idol for basketball players, soccer players, and guys in all sports, and that’s how I want to be as well. Not just known as a baseball player, but known as an athlete that everybody can look up to,” the Marlins center fielder said in an interview with The Associated Press.

He added, “When I was a kid, I always wanted to be on the cover of MLB the Show. So it’s almost like winning the MVP in a sense. You get a chance to live out your childhood dream.”

“I’m sure the kids will love it. Every time I look around I see kids with blue hair, wearing the jersey. I feel like this is going to be good for the culture,” Chisholm said.

Jazz Chisholm, a rising star in the MLB

Chisholm has captured the attention of MLB fans as much for his colorful hair, chains, and sunglasses as for his impressive speed in the outfield and his powerful arm. That combination has made him a fan favorite

A native of Nassau, Bahamas, Chisholm will enter his fourth MLB season averaging .243 and slugging .449. He is the seventh player from this Caribbean country to reach the Major Leagues.

He was out of the game last June due to lower back problemsalthough the diagnosis was a stress fracture, which caused him to miss the rest of the 2022 season.

However, it was enough to earn him his first All-Star Game call-up and at the time of his injury, he was leading the team in home runs (14) and RBIs (45) before the injury, batting .254. He also totaled 12 stolen bases in 60 games. At the end of the season, he was only surpassed by the Marlins by Jesus Aguilar who hit 15 home runs in 113 games.
