OnePlus has finally confirmed that the Chinese version of the India-exclusive 11R will launch as the headline act of the next Ace-series product event. However, as it has just been revealed, it will not do so alone.
The online retail giant JD.com has dropped spoilers for the same line’s very first set of TWS earbuds, also slated to launch formally on February 7, 2023 from 14:30.
They have been revealed to bear an inescapable resemblance to certain OnePlus accessories sold in other markets; however, there are signs – such as their shiny new CD-like accents where the Nord Buds have blank discs – that these Ace Buds are the higher-end option.
To this end, JD – which is also now taking reservations for the Ace 2 – has revealed that these newer buds upgrade to the noise-cancelling status missing from the original Nord Buds.
Whether that involves actual ANC or not remains unclear, although some of the new peripherals’ teasers hint strongly at automatic sound-filtering abilities.
The Ace Buds’ price has yet to be set, although they have been revealed to be IP5X and to support USB type-C charging. It is also to ship in white or black, which, as this means they will fail to match the Ace 2’s new greenish finish option, is a slight shame.
There is no sign of an international re-brand for the inaugural Ace Buds as yet. Then again, Indian OnePlus fans can look forward to the option of ordering a new pair of flagship Buds Pro 2 with their 11R instead.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
