Tyler O’Neill 2023 MLB Player Outlook: Dual Threat That Should Bounce Back In 2023

The 27-year-old slashed .228/.308/.392 with 14 home runs, 58 RBI, 56 runs, and 14 stolen bases over 383 plate appearances last season. Injuries could have been one of the reasons O’Neill’s numbers dipped in 2022. He saw his exit velocity drop from 93 MPH in 2021 to 89.8 MPH in 2022, while his hard-hit percentage fell from 52.2% in 2021 to 43.4% in 2022 The young slugger is a dual threat and will look to rebound in 2023 after bashing 34 homers and stealing 15 bags in 2021. ATC is on board with this assessment and is projecting O’Neill with a .249/.320/.447 slash line with 26 home runs, 76 runs, 74 RBI, and 16 stolen bases in 2023. He could easily surpass those projections if he can stay healthy, as a 30-homer, 20-steal campaign isn’t out of the question. O’Neill has an ADP of 103 in NFBC and could easily smash his ADP if he can come close to his 2021 totals. The high risk/high reward makes O’Neill well worth taking him at his current ADP, as fantasy managers could get a potential five-category star after pick 100.
