AMRITSAR: To further facilitate and simplify the procedure for the tourists to secure seats at the Attari International border to witness the adrenaline rushing daily flag-lowering ceremony held jointly by the jawans’ of both Border Security Force (BSF) Ms Pakistan Rangersthe BSF has launched a dedicated mobile application on Tuesday.
BSF Inspector General, Punjab Frontier, Asif Jalal informed that BSF Director General (DG) SL in Thaos launched the “BSF Attari” mobile application on Tuesday. Thaosen is chief of Central Reserve Police Force and has the additional charge of BSF DG.
An official Twitter handle of BSF says, “Dr SL Thaosen, DG BSF launched the BSF Attari Mobile App virtually to further facilitate visitors in viewing the Joint Retreat Ceremony at JCP Attari today. Developed by BSF Punjab IT Team, the App is available on Google Play Store”.
Earlier on December 5, 2022, BSF had launched a dedicated website www.attari.bsf.gov.in exclusively for booking the seats at Attari International border. The website began functioning from January 1, 2023.
“The mobile application and website will allow the visitor to book the seat in advance for the venue. They will ensure security and crowd control at the venue and convenience for the audience. The website is already in use and more people are booking and reserving their seats at the venue”, said Asif.
On an average more than twenty five thousand tourists visit Attari every day to see the daily adrenaline rushing Beating Retreat Ceremony ceremony held jointly by the jawan’s of BSF, India, and Pak Ranger’s, Pakistan, at the Indo Pak Joint Check Post. (JCP) at Attari (India) and Wagah (Pakistan) since 1959.
Notably, a large number of tourists had to return disappointed after they were denied entry at the venue in want of seats, the advantage of which was taken by some travel agents who would fleece them on getting ‘reservation’ of the seats at the Attari. eom
