The Xiaomi Smart Lightstrip Pro has launched in the EU, specifically in Germany and Spain. The gadget can cast a soft 3D colored light, with the ability to set different shades at 10 cm (~3.9-in) intervals. You can tell the light strip to adapt to music thanks to a built-in microphone in the control unit, or you can sync the light effects with your game; you need to have Razer ChromaTM RGB or ASUS Aura Sync software for these RGB peripherals to work.
The gadget is compatible with the Google Home ecosystem, and you can push OTA updates to the light using the Xiaomi Home app. You can also use the app to adjust the light settings, choosing from 16 million colors, three sensitivity controls and four dynamic effects. There are eight preset moods to choose from, like “cozy fireplace”, and over 100 custom configurations available. The light strip has 60 colored LEDs per 1 m (~3.3 ft) and is made from matte materials to help scatter the light.
Each light strip measures 2 m (~6.6 ft), and you can connect 1m (~3.3 ft) extender units for up to 5 m (~16.4 ft) of light. The gadget comes with a control unit with three buttons to select a mode, reset the device or power it on and off. You can now buy the Xiaomi Smart Lightstrip Pro in Germany for €99.99 (~US$109) from the Mi Store. The gadget is also available in Spain via Powerplanetonline for the discounted price of €69.99 (~US$76). It is currently unclear whether or when the product could reach other markets.
