Further details about the upcoming Volkswagen ID.7 EV have been revealed, including an innovative air conditioning system. The company has said that the tool, which will feature in the electric saloon, provides faster heating or cooling of the car before you start your trip. The intelligent climate control is triggered when the vehicle detects a key nearby, heating the cabin on cold days, cooling it in warmer climates, and adjusting based on the driver’s profile.
A dynamic wave of air helps to cool the electric car quickly as you get in; the airflow then adjusts to target passengers or indirectly alter the cabin temperature. This is made possible in part by electronically operated air vents. The intelligent temperature controls can automatically change their direction based on the sun’s position, detected by a sensor in the windscreen. The climate controls will be located on the 15-in (38 cm) infotainment display. Alternatively, you can adjust the temperature using voice commands; for example, you could set the command “Hello, Volkswagen, my hands are cold” to trigger the heated steering wheel.
Officially unveiled at CES 2023 earlier this year, the electric vehicle is expected to replace the Arteon. Volkswagen has announced that the ID.7 will premiere in Q2 this year, with the first units scheduled to arrive in China and Europe before the end of 2023. The electric saloon is expected to launch in North America in 2024.
