Lawrence, making his playoff debut for the Jaguars, couldn’t have started the game on a worse note after he was picked off with his very first pass of the game.

On second down and six deep in Jaguars territory, Lawrence looked to find wide receiver Christian Kirk on a short pass but the ball was deflected into the air by Chargers star Joey Bosa and into the grateful hands of Drue Tranquill.

Tranquill made it as far as the Jaguars’ 15-yard line to give the Chargers offense the perfect field position.

It didn’t take long for the Chargers to capitalize, as QB Justin Herbert tossed the ball to running back Austin Ekeler who drove up the middle for the first touchdown of the game.

Lawrence’s woes would continue not long after Ekeler’s touchdown.

The Jacksonville quarterback managed to complete three passes to his receivers, but when Jaguars coach Doug Pederson decided to go for it on fourth down and seven, Lawrence completed his second pass to the Chargers defense.

Lawrence dropped deep into the pocket to give himself some time, but was immediately chased down by a Chargers linebacker.

The pressure forced Lawrence to throw the ball straight to Chargers cornerback Asante Samuel Jr instead of Jaguars WR Zay Jones.

However, Jones and the Jags could count themselves somewhat unlucky that a flag was not thrown for pass interference for Samuel Jr.’s heavy-handed nature when defending.

Yet the Jaguars could have no such complaints for Lawrence’s third interception of the game, as Samuel Jr. got his second of the evening to give the Chargers the ball on the Jaguars’ 15-yard line.

It took only a handful of plays for Ekeler to once again capitalize to give the Chargers a 17-0 lead.

But Lawrence wasn’t done there with the interceptions in the first half.

With the ball on the halfway line, Lawrence fired the ball into the middle of the field only for Samuel Jr. to be there again to pick off the Jags QB for his third interception of the game.
