Apple’s MacBook Air was hailed by many as the best all-purpose laptop for most consumers in 2022. Now may be a great time to grab one; Best Buy is selling the M2 MacBook Air for US$200 off right now.
The M2 MacBook Air is a solid laptop for general purpose computing. The Apple Silicon M2 SoC beating at its heart offers a lot of power in an efficient package. Despite its thin size, the MacBook Air is a capable laptop that can handle anything up to and including video editing.
In our review, we praised the M2 MacBook Air’s excellent performance, great screen, and stellar battery life. We did find some flaws, though: gaming performance on the MacBook Air (as with all of Apple’s laptops) was lackluster, especially for the price, and the overall base price was a bit too high for our tastes.
However, Best Buy’s sale alleviates that last pain point. Right now, Best Buy is offering the MacBook Air with M2 SoC, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage for US$999, which is $200 off its retail price of $1199 (or about 17% off). The model with 512 GB of storage is going for $1299, $200 less than its retail price of $1499 (or about 13% off).
Considering this sale brings the M2 MacBook Air in line with the previous M1 MacBook Air, it’s almost a no-brainer. Either storage option will offer an excellent computing experience, but you’ll have to decide if doubling the SSD size is worth the extra $300.
