Bet on Kyle Kuzma’s rebounds, Marcus Smart’s threes

Welcome to Bet For The Win’s Nightly NBA Player Props. Throughout the 2022-23 season, we look at some of the night’s biggest games and come up with bets to make as we predict how players might perform.

It’s simple — if we like where the player’s line is set, we take the over, otherwise, we take the under.

It’s a relatively quiet night in the NBA with just three games on deck. But, quality over quantity, as the red-hot Washington Wizards battle the Milwaukee Bucks, the Boston Celtics (the league’s top team record-wise) take on the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Utah Jazz host the Sacramento Kings.

Each game packs a punch and plenty of talented players to bet on. Here are five player props to consider.

Even with an injured hand, Domantas Sabonis isn’t slowing down — he remains a double-double machine and a load to deal with. On top of being a skilled bully in the interior, he’s got an outside game to go with it. Sabonis is up to a career-best 42.9 percent on threes and has taken 42 of them in his 34 games played this season. There’s a good chance he makes one tonight against the Utah Jazz.

Having to clear 6.5 rebounds feels like a low bar for an athletic 6-foot-9-inch forward who’s averaging at least 6.9 boards per game over each month of this NBA season. Kuzma also recorded 13 rebounds against this same Milwaukee Bucks team on New Year’s Day. He should be able to reach seven on this Tuesday night.

Smart averages 9.6 field-goal attempts per game and 55 percent of those looks are from beyond the arc. While he’s not very efficient from three (33.7 percent), he takes them often and shoots enough to open the door for multiple makes each game. Smart’s made at least two 3-pointers in 18 of the 33 games he’s played this season, so I like his chances of making more than 1.5 against OKC.

Josh Giddey hasn’t yet proven to be the high-assist player he may have been projected to be, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a great floor general. Even without the huge assist totals, Giddey’s floor is above his 4.5-assist prop tonight. Nineteen of 31 times this season he has totaled five or more assists in a game. Expect him to do the same on Tuesday night.
