Over the last three seasons, Nikola Jokic has become not just one of the best players in the world today, but historically. This season he is looking to do something that he has never done before in leading his Denver Nuggets (24-12) to the NBA Finals. They are in first place entering today’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves (16-21), who are struggling this season with inconsistency. Jokic is the back-to-back league MVP and could be the first player since Michael Jordan 30 years ago to win his third straight MVP with the way he and the team are playing right now.

Jokic went for his 84th career triple-double in Denver’s last win over the Miami Heat 124-119 with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists fueling the offense.
This season Jokic has paced himself deferring to his returning teammates to get them back on track. He has allowed Jamaal Murray (18.2 points and 5.7 assists) and Michael Porter Jr. (16.6 points and 6.0 rebounds) space to work off their rust and get back into their rhythm.
In doing so now the offense is even more potent up to fifth in points per game with Jokic pushing the limits on what a playmaking big man can do with 25.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, 9.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game on 62-35-81 splits.
