TOKYO — Major League Baseball star Shohei Ohtani will be featured in Tokyo-based major cosmetic firm Kose Corp.’s global ad campaign, appearing as the company’s “face” in newspaper and online ads starting on Jan. 1, 2023.
Kose, which has popular brands such as “Sekkisei” and “Decorte,” announced on Dec. 26 that it had signed a global ad contract with the Los Angeles Angels two-way sensation.
The company has been aiming to create a unique makeup culture and value by searching new possibilities of “beauty” under a “3G” concept: global, gender and generation. It has deemed that Ohtani, who plays globally and is loved by many people regardless of gender or age, matches the firm’s campaign.
In the photo shoot for the ads, Ohtani said, “Both sports and beauty care are essential for people to stay fun and healthy, and something that enhances everyday lives.”
