A Jets duo continues to be the favorite for the NFL Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards with only three weeks remaining. But there’s been a swing in the odds for the defensive player of the year honor with a long-time favorite falling to No. 2. Here’s what you need to know:
- Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson and cornerback Sauce Gardner seem like firm favorites to capture the rookie of the year awards.
- If Wilson and Gardner win, it would be the first time since 2017 that a pair from the same team earned both rookie awards. Saints running back Alvin Kamara and cornerback Marshon Lattimore achieved the feat.
- San Francisco edge rusher Nick Bosa has overtaken Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons as the favorite to win the defensive player of the year award. Bosa leads the NFL with 15 1/2 sacks and 38 quarterback hits. Parsons ranks fourth in the league with 13 sacks.
