LIV Golf RIPPED for “beyond parody” post featuring Cameron Smith

  • by

LIV Golf’s official Twitter account was roasted after they posted a silhouette of Cameron Smith and labeled the Australian as the “most recognizable” in golf.

Okay, so I’ll be perfectly honest. This writer is not a fan of LIV Golf.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to go on a rant about sports washing, the Saudis and human rights abuses.

Nor will I ramble on about the hypocrisy of some players or talk about Greg Norman in depth.

This won’t be a lengthy post about the tedious debate around the Official World Golf Ranking system or anything else you’re likely tired of hearing about at this point.

We are here to focus solely on this:

I’m sorry but…what?!

The mind does truly baffle. There are quite simply so many players from the past and present that would be infinitely more recognizable than LIV’s $150m marquee signing from Australia.

No disrespect to you Cam, but I would go as far as suggesting the likes of a silhouette of Tiger Woods, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Payne Stewart, Phil Mickelson, Bobby Jones, Seve Ballesteros, Lee Trevino and many, many more hall of famers are likely more recognisable.

Here’s some reaction:
