The New York Rangers (13-10-5) haven’t often looked like a team that played in the conference final a season ago, but they take a two-game winning streak into the Ball Arena in Denver on Friday night to face the slumping Colorado Avalanche (13-10-1). The defending Stanley Cup champions have lost three in a row and four of their last five. Mike Zibanejad leads the Blueshirts with 15 goals while Artemi Panerin has a team-high 33 points. Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin has a .913 save percentage and a 2.58 goals-against average in 20 starts. The banged-up Avalanche lost 30-goal scorer Nathan MacKinnon on Monday and have 10 players out with injuries. Mikko Rantanen leads the club with 15 goals.
