A MOBILE optometry service called “SpecTruck” drew many visitors at a community carnival in Section 7, Kota Damansara in Petaling Jaya
Many were eager to have their eyes examined by an optometrist.
Mother-of-five Noorhaziah A. Rahim brought her eldest son along as she felt he might need glasses.
“I just completed my screening and the optometrist recommended a new pair of glasses for me as my power has increased,” said Noorhaziah, 33.
Housewife Aliza Mat Alib was relieved that her eyesight did not deteriorate.
“My power has remained the same, so there is no need to change my existing pair of glasses.
“This is my first time getting a checkup from a mobile truck, and I am satisfied with the service,” said the 58-year-old.
Noorhaziah and Aliza, both residents of Section 8, Kota Damansara, later proceeded to have their general health check at another mobile truck at the carnival.
The optometry and health screening services were among the activities held at the “Festival Gegar Keluarga Sungai Buloh” community carnival.
Visitors to the half-day event enjoyed cooking demonstrations, community sports like street soccer and a career exhibition.
A fun coloring contest was also held for the children.
