The 31-year-old Souths veteran, who is regarded as one of the most popular and genuinely nice guys in the NRL, posted the clips to Instagram on Sunday afternoon alongside the caption: ‘If at first you don’t succeed, TRY AGAIN. Let Daddy show you how it’s done
In the first clip, Cook can be seen playing goalkeeper as his daughter tries to score. The Blues hooker ruthlessly blocks her attempt on goal with a dramatic clearance.
In the second clip, the roles are reversed and Cook can be seen lining up a shot while Willow stands between the posts. Cook buries the ball in the back of the net and celebrates wildly as he runs around the backyard.
The third clip shows Cook as goalkeeper once again, and this time he lets Willow score by kicking the ball through his legs.
Athletes and footy fans responded quickly to the heartwarming post.
Souths Cameron Murray replied with laughing emojis, as did Socceroos goalkeeper Maty Ryan.
Souths prop Tom Burgess commented, ‘Tough school here baby.’
Cook, who welcomed a baby boy named Jagger this year, was crowned the 2022 Philips Sports Dad of the Year in September.
As the winner of the award, Cook picked up $5000 to donate to a charity of his choice – and kindly matched the donation to give a $10,000 check to Ronald McDonald House, which has supported sick children and their families for more than 30 years.
‘I’m very honored to receive this award on behalf of all the sports dads out there,’ Cook said at the time.
‘My family means everything to me and I love being a father and everything that comes with it.

‘I’m always striving to be a better father for my daughter Willow and now son Jagger, so I’m very proud to win this award.’
Cook’s wife Courtney was very complimentary of her footy star husband’s parenting skills.
‘Damien’s best asset for Willow would be no matter how full on or busy his schedule might be or no matter how late after a game he always makes quality time for her,’ she said.
‘He takes her for ice cream every Monday after daycare, he reads her favorite book to her every night and he will participate in every dance concert she performs at home and he tells her at least 20 times a day how much he loves her.’
