The calendar year for golf is coming to a close with all the professional leagues, but also with some of the biggest amateur tournaments of the year. Last week, the men’s amateurs took the course and played this same tournament with Harrison Crowe (13 under par) winning by one stroke over the field. Now, the women’s field takes center stage to play the 2022 Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific tournament with the best young amateur golfers from all over the Asia-Pacific region. Some of the best young golfers in the world on the LPGA Tour have come from Asia-Pacific countries in recent years, including the current and former No. 1 player in the world.

Last year, this tournament was won with consistent play round after round by Mizuki Hashimoto. She had four straight rounds of four-under 68 to outclass the rest of the field to take home the 2021 Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific tournament.
This year’s event comes from the Siam Country Club in Pattaya, Thailand. The location is appropriate right now with the new No. 1 player in the world, Atthaya Thitikul, who is from Thailand and potentially the new face of the LPGA Tour with the way she has played at only 19 years old.
The next No. 1 player in the world could come out of this field as women’s golf has been dominated by the best players in these regions for years now.
Regional restrictions may apply.
