LIV Golf host heaps praise on Phil Mickelson in comms box

LIV Golf host Arlo White has heaped praise on six-time major champion Phil Mickelson following his half-hour stint in the commentary box at the LIV Golf Team Championship in Miami on Sunday.

Mickelson jumped in the booth with White, Jerry Foltz and David Feherty for half an hour during Sunday’s final at Trump National Doral.

Lefty’s Hy Flyers team were already eliminated from the season finale at the first stage on Friday, so you could say Mickelson had plenty of spare time over the weekend.

Mickelson, who signed for LIV Golf in a deal worth $200 million, cracked jokes, told old stories and marveled at Open champion Cameron Smith’s putting.

He also said THIS about the majors.

White, who has worked as a broadcaster on a number of different sports in his career such as the Premier League on NBC, took to Twitter to reveal his admiration for spending some time with Mickelson.

“Half an hour on air with Phil Mickelson was as good as I’ve experienced in sports broadcasting,” tweeted White.

“Golf nuts and aspiring broadcasters alike, go back and watch / listen.”

Mickelson earlier in the week explained how “a lot of stuff is going to happen” on LIV Golf in 2023.

This came at the same time LIV Golf execs explained a number of key changes for the LIV Golf League starting next year.

Speculation is also mounting that a number of star names will be making the move from the PGA Tour.
