Today’s NHL Referees and Linesmen – 10/28/22

Charron’s stats are a bit skewed as the veteran ref only worked seven games last season, missing time for a leg injury that required surgery.

Officiating Supervisor: Paul Devorski

McCauley consistently ranks near the bottom of the league in penalties and power plays handed out. We’ll see if his junior partner follows his lead, which would minimize Boston’s #10-ranked power play. The Blue Jackets are still looking for their first PPG of the season; expect they’ll have few chances to get one tonight.

Officiating Supervisor: Brad Watson

Brenk and Hebert are both top-10 in PIM/game, which typically means they call a lot, and tend to have games that accrue a lot of penalties. The Devils would be wise to avoid that and face the wrath of Colorado’s league-leading power play (50%).

Tonight’s pairing on the low-end in goals, penalties, and power plays. Somehow, L’Ecuyer’s games saw the home team winning 67% of the time last season, third-highest in the league (and second among officials who worked a full season)

Officiating Supervisor: Dan O’Halloran

The Penguins were a combined 5-0 under these refs last season.

Both officials are Top-10 in penalties-per-game and power-plays-per-game, so expect some opportunities with the man-advantage. Both teams are struggling on the PK so that may be the difference tonight.

Officiating Supervisor: Mike Leggo
