Jack Hughes over 3.5 shots on goal +105 (BetMGM)

Article content

Hughes has taken his game to another level this season, averaging 7.1 shot attempts and 4.4 shots on goal per game. The Devils are generating a ton of shots on goal as a team, averaging 42 shots on goal per 60 minutes at 5-on-5, which puts them first in the NHL. The Devils will face the defending Stanley Cup champion Avalanche tonight. Having last change at home against Colorado should put Hughes in prime matchups to hit the over.

Jesper Bratt over 2.5 shots on goal +100 (bet365)

Hughes’ teammate has cemented himself as one of the most exciting young wingers in the NHL with his early season play. He’s hit the over on this prop in three straight games and is averaging three shots on goal per game. The Avs have been one of the better teams suppressing shots on goal at 5-on-5, but I still think Bratt is too talented not to succeed against Colorado.

Evgeni Malkin +115 over 3.5 shots on goal (FanDuel)

Even at the age of 36, the future Hall of Famer still has a lot left in the tank. Malkin is leading Pittsburgh in shot attempts (47) and shots (31) in their first seven games. The Penguins will visit a Vancouver Canucks team that finally got their first win of the season, but is playing on the second night of a back-to-back. Pittsburgh hasn’t played since Tuesday so Malkin should be well rested for this one.
