Graphics cards have always been the heart of a gaming rig, if you are a gamer of any sort, you know the power these cards have. During COVID-19, the semiconductor shortage along with Crypto miners buying in bulk led to a short supply of Nvidia’s 30xx series cards. Getting your hands on a full-size 3080/90 was an impossible task, however, things seem to have taken a turn for the better now.
Recently Nvidia launched their latest 40xx series graphics cards based on the new Ada Lovelace architecture. The RTX 4090 launched on October 12th, and the RTX 4080 is expected sometime in November.
The RTX 4090 retails at a starting price of $1599 in the US and in India, the price quoted by elitehubs.com is ₹179,999 for a Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 AMP Extreme AIRO 24GB Graphic Card. The same Zotac card is listed on Newegg.com for $1,699 (₹1,39,684) and is out of stock.

While it looks like we are putting the Nvidia RTX 4090 down, we are not. It is a beast of a graphics card, however, it’s not what you really need, it’s something you want. The 4090 Card is not going to be a simple upgrade, it requires a PSU upgrade, and considering the size of the card, you might also need a chassis upgrade. Let’s not forget a high-end 8K monitor or Television that you would want next, to enjoy the power of the 4090. Unless you are a professional that can use the power of the RTX 4090, a 3060 or 3080 card will be more than enough to play almost AAA titles with good frame rates in 4K. And then there is console gaming, with games optimized for PS5 or XBOX X|S hardware a steady 60/120fps is easy at 4K resolutions along with exclusives on either platform.
Happy gaming!
