The 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks are on their way to etching their name in the history books for all the wrong reasons.

That might be a bit dramatic, but following the club’s third straight loss last night — this time at the hands of the Washington Capitals — Sportsnet shared a fun (it’s not actually fun at all) little nugget for Canucks fans to read.

It’s true, the 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks are the first team in NHL history to lose all three of their first three games of a new season while blowing multi-goal leads in each contest.

First, they allowed five unanswered in Edmonton and blew a three goal lead last week on opening night.

Then on Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Canucks allowed three in a row to let a two goal lead slip away in the first period.

And last night in Washington, the Capitals managed to score four unanswered in the third as the Canucks blew the 4-2 lead they possessed heading into the final frame.

The Canucks will attempt to notch their first win tonight in Columbus after a player’s only meeting following the loss to the Capitals last night. Puck drop is at 4 PM Pacific.
