After a Sunday with no NHL games, the league returns with nine tonight. Let’s dive into some player props.

Kirill Kaprizov +100 over 3.5 shots on goal

It should be a back-and-forth affair tonight between two of the highest octane offenses in the NHL when Minnesota hosts Colorado. Kaprizov has played only two games so far this year, but already has 16 total shot attempts and eight shots on goal. There is the potential that Colorado may get up early in this one and force Minnesota to play from behind, opening up more shot opportunities for Kaprizov later in the game.

Jake Guentzel +100 over 3.5 shots on goal

Similar to Kaprizov, the Penguins forward has been shooting early and often to start the season. Guentzel has fired a team-high 20 pucks toward the net this year, hitting the goal on 12 of them in his first two tilts. The veteran Penguins will face an overmatched Montreal Canadiens team tonight that has seen up-and-coming talent, but still makes a lot of mistakes defensively. With NHL scoring leader Sidney Crosby leading the way on his line, Guentzel will have plenty of offensive chances in this one.

Nikolaj Ehlers +135 over 3.5 shots on goal

The Jets forward had 10 shot attempts in Winnipeg’s first game of the year against the Rangers. The Dallas Stars aren’t a terrible defensive team by any means, but I just believe in Ehlers’ talent and opportunity. He averaged 3.9 shots on goal in 62 games last year and that was mainly playing on the 2nd line. He’s now bumped up to the first line and locked in on PP1, which should put him in a great spot against the Stars.
