CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois athletics has announced the promotional schedule for the 2022 Fighting Illini soccer season, with the Illini kicking off the 2022 home slate on Thursday (Aug. 18) against Illinois State at 7 pm CT in Demirjian Park.

Admission is free to all home Illinois soccer matches, with spectator parking available in the Atkins Tennis Center parking lot and the grass lots just east of the soccer practice field.

2022 ILLINI SOCCER PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE

Thursday, Aug. 18 vs. Illinois State | 7 p.m. CT

Home Opener – Illinois soccer opens its 26th season with its season and home opener on Thursday Night.

DIA Night – It’s DIA Staff Appreciation Night at Illinois Soccer this Thursday! DIA staff in attendance will receive a ticket for free popcorn and be entered into a halftime drawing for two sets of two Colonnades Club tickets for Illini Football’s home opener vs. Wyoming. We’ll also bring DIA staff to the sideline at 6:45 pm CT to form a pre-game tunnel for our student-athletes to run through on their way to the field.

Bark in the Park – Recurring every Thursday home match this season, fans and their furry friends are welcome to watch the Illini soccer matches from just beyond the Demirjian Park fence. No dogs are allowed inside the Demirjian Park complex and fans must sign a waiver.

Sunday, Aug. 21 vs. Toledo | 1 p.m. CT

Senior Celebration – Illinois will honor seniors in a pregame ceremony for their hard work and dedication to Illini Soccer.

Soccer Planet Youth Days – Soccer Planet will host kid clinics one hour prior to select Sunday matches.

Thursday, Sept. 1 vs. Texas A&M | 7 p.m. CT

Student Tailgate – Illini soccer invites all University of Illinois students to a night out at Demirjian Park. There will be a pre-match tailgate with free food, music, cornhole and soccer themed games.

Thursday, Sept. 8 vs. Missouri | 7 p.m. CT

Mental Health Awareness – Students across the country are feeling increased levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. This game is designed to increase awareness of on campus groups as well as raise money for mental health resources to help expand programs that make a difference.

Sunday, Sept. 11 vs. Loyola | 1 p.m. CT

9/11 Remembrance & Heroes Day – Illini soccer will honor first responders and give out American flags to fans. There will be first responder trucks pre-match for kids to explore and the Illini will honor Illinois Athletics Hall of Famer Tara Hurless and other first responders in attendance on the field at halftime.

Sunday, Sept. 18 vs. Michigan State | 1 p.m. CT

Hispanic Heritage Night – Illinois celebrates Hispanic Heritage Night vs. Michigan State with specialty food items available in the concession stand throughout the match.

Thursday, Sept. 29 vs. Iowa | 7 p.m. CT

MVP Most Valuable Professor – Illini Soccer student-athletes will honor their MVP (Most Valuable Professor) in a halftime ceremony.

Sunday, Oct. 2 vs. Northwestern | 1 pm CT | Big Ten Network

Socctoberfest – Illinois’ premier event of the season, Socctoberfest blends the traditional German, the beautiful fall season in Champaign and Illinois soccer all in one.

Sunday, Oct. 16 vs. Ohio State | 1 p.m. CT

Kick Cancer – Illinois will honor and promote the fight against cancer with their annual Kick Cancer promotion. Each fan will receive a colored ribbon according to the type of cancer they would like to support, and each ribbon will be tied to the net of the home starting goal.
