The 2022-23 season ended for the Philadelphia 76ers with a Game 7 loss to the Boston Celtics in the second round of the playoffs, so it’s time to reflect on the season.
The Sixers finished 54-28 and were third in the Eastern Conference behind the Milwaukee Bucks and the Celtics in the standings. Considering the 12-12 start, the season was a success despite the sour and familiar ending.
Now it’s time to grade each player on the roster for what he did throughout the season. In this installment, Sixers Wire looks at Mac McClung who only played two games for Philadelphia as he was mostly in the G League all season and on a two-way deal.
McClung’s 2022-23 statistics (2 games)
12.5 points
5.0 rebounds
4.5 assists
45% field goal percentage
36.4% 3-point percentage
McClung’s G League stats (regular season)
19.8 points
5.0 assists
2.6 rebounds
54.8% field goal percentage
47.4% 3-point field goal percentage
82.3% free-throw percentage

Thoughts
McClung teamed up with Jaden Springer to lead the Delaware Blue Coats to the G League championship in 2023. He averaged 25.3 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.8 rebounds across the four G League playoff games before playing the final two regular season games with the Sixers.
Philadelphia signed McClung to a two-way deal shortly before the All-Star break and then he went to Salt Lake City and put on a show in the dunk contest. He took home the title after putting on an absolute show at Vivint Arena.
McClung showed some really nice things, but he still needs time to develop. His time in Philadelphia is likely done considering the Sixers don’t have time to develop him at the moment.
Final grade: B+
