The MLB free agent class is loaded with some superstar players.

But, the relief pitchers in this class leave a lot to be desired.

There are only a few relief pitchers available that have experience closing games.

Kenley Jansen, for instance, will be a hot commodity.

Here are two MLB teams that need to sign a closer this offseason.

1. Philadelphia Phillies

The reigning National League champions could use a better back end of their bullpen.

It seemed like during the playoffs they were forced to rely on the same 2-3 relievers each game.

But, if they can get a true closer, that will make everything easier.

The Phillies leader in saves this past season was Corey Knebel with only 12.

Now he is a free agent and not expected to be back.

Some names for them to take a look at are Jansen, Craig Kimbrel, and Michael Fulmer.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers

Another NL team that needs a closer is the Los Angeles Dodgers.

They are loaded with position players but need to address the bullpen in free agency.

Their closer last season was Kimbrel, who led their team with 22 saves.

But, it is unlikely they re-sign him for that role again this season.

They could go to Brusdar Graterol as their next closer, or they must sign someone else.

It will be interesting to see if they consider bringing back Jansen, who saved 350 games for them during his first 12 seasons.

The Dodgers are always in “win-now” mode and acquiring bullpen help would prove that.
